Currently the most popular destination on the Baja of California Sur, in all of Mexico in fact, is Los Cabos, named for the slender cape extending eastward from Baja's southernmost tip. Cabo has gradually developed into a tourist hot spot over the course of the last forty years. Los Cabos (The Capes) actually refers to two towns—San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas—and the 20-mile corridor that connects the towns at the south end of the Baja Peninsula.
